Original Gyro Hub Wheels

Ridden by nearly every pool and park skater in the late 70’s and into the 80’s, Gyro Hub Wheels set the standard for precision, speed and rebound. Now, after nearly two years of tracking down original drawings, manufacturers and chemical suppliers, we are pleased to present to you original remakes of the highly coveted Gyro Aluminum Core Hub Wheel. Just like the originals, each aluminum hub is anodized and hand trimmed then placed into specially designed molds and finally hand poured using the original chemical makeup found in the early Gyro Hub wheels.

Gyro’s hard-anodized aluminum hub is precision machined to a tolerance of .0005 of an inch. It’s designed to act as a heat sink that draws off the heat around the bearings. Each bearing is always in true parallel with the others and always perpendicular to the axle. We just eliminated bearing deformation and “wave” affect by keeping the bearing between the axle and the inside of the hub.

We took some time solving another technical problem: The bond between the hub and urethane. First, we formulated a urethane compatible with the high-performance hub. Then we developed a special bond tough enough to stand Gyro’s higher speeds, quicker turns and yet keep a tight surface grip.

Our Gyro’s may cost a little more, but are worth a lot more.
