Hi, I’m Diana, the founder of TailTap — and this journey started long before the app.
I was born and raised in London, but every summer from the age of five to fifteen, I was sent to my mother's village in Serbia to stay with my grandmother. That village, and those summers, shaped everything. I became known as the local animal girl — rescuing strays, sneaking bowls of food to street dogs, and taking in unwanted cats, puppies, and even farm animals like pigs and goats.
People would hear I’d arrived and start showing up at my grandma’s door with animals they no longer wanted or litters they couldn’t care for. I’d care for them as best I could all summer long — and when it came time to leave, I’d beg my grandmother to keep them safe until I returned. She always did. She never let me or the animals down, and each summer I’d come back to updates and wagging tails. I’d wander through the village to find newborn puppies or lonely dogs to care for, and even tried (unsuccessfully) to sneak a stray into the car one year, hoping to smuggle it back to the UK.
Back in London, I couldn’t rescue in the same way — but I had my Alfie. A miniature schnauzer, my soulmate, my best friend. From 2008 to 2024, Alfie was my confidant through teenage years, heartbreaks, exams, early adult life — everything. He was a member of the family. Losing him was losing a piece of myself.
Later that year, I moved to Dubai with my partner and soon discovered, through research and rescue pages, the extent of the stray crisis in the region. In October 2024, I began fostering with Furrballs. I told myself I was “just helping” — but I fell fast for a soulful desert dog. I tried to keep my distance, still grieving Alfie, but three months later, I failed — gloriously. We adopted Kenzo in January 2025 and made our little family official. My partner, new to dogs entirely, fell just as hard.
Since then, I’ve continued fostering, helping where I can, and left my legal career in the UK to follow the purpose that had always been calling. I’d studied law hoping to work in animal rights, but opportunities were few. Now, I’m creating them — through TailTap.
TailTap is more than an app. It’s a platform built from my lived experience — the child who tried to smuggle strays into the car, the teenager who loved one dog more than words could express, and the adult who turned that love into action
This is for everyone who has ever wanted to do more — and just needed the right tools to do it.
